Flower pesticides are soaked

In the use of seeds to propagate flower seedlings, in order to reduce the probability of seed-borne pathogens and reduce the incidence of seedbed or field seedlings, many flower farmers now use pesticide soaking and disinfection techniques before sowing, and have achieved good disease prevention effects. The following aspects should be noted when using pesticide soaking.
First, pay attention to the choice of pesticide dosage form. For the soaking of the medicament, the diluent of the medicament is used, and the selected medicament must be dissolved in water, and the pesticide should not be soaked with the powder which is insoluble in water or insoluble in water. Because the pesticides that are insoluble in water or poorly soluble in water are mostly floating on the surface or sinking, the seeds are not evenly spread. The excessive amount of the drug may cause poisoning of the seeds, and the disinfection effect of the seeds which are not contaminated with the liquid is poor. Therefore, it is preferred to use a dosage form such as a liquid, an emulsifiable concentrate or a wettable powder.
Second, accurate dispensing of pharmaceutical liquids. The concentration of the agent used for soaking seeds is not calculated based on the weight of the seed, but is calculated based on the active ingredient content of the agent. Therefore, the concentration of the drug to be soaked should be controlled within the maximum allowable amount, the minimum amount or more. The larger the concentration of the drug in this range, the shorter the soaking time, and vice versa. Therefore, the concentration of soaking agent should be based on different varieties, and the optimum concentration and soaking time required for soaking seeds should be mastered. It is not possible to soak seeds with high-concentration agents for a long time, or soak seeds with low concentration for a short time, otherwise it will cause phytotoxicity or soaking seeds. Disinfection and sterilization are not effective.
Third, master the time of soaking. There is a certain time requirement for soaking seeds. If the time is too long, it will cause phytotoxicity; if it is too short, it will not achieve the purpose of disinfection. The specific soaking time should be determined according to the characteristics of the variety, the instructions for use of the drug, and the temperature at the time of seed soaking. The high temperature and high concentration can shorten the soaking time, and vice versa. In general, soaking seeds of grass seed with thin seed coat and small grain size can be slightly shorter; seed soaking time of large seed, thicker seed coat or multi-furry can be relatively longer.
4. The soaked seeds should be cleaned and aired. For seeds with soft texture and poor resistance, when the requirements for soaking time are reached, it should be rinsed with water in time to prevent phytotoxicity. In addition to individual soaking, it can be directly planted, and the sowing depends on the soil moisture.
5. Stir thoroughly. After the seeds are placed in the liquid medicine, it is necessary to pay attention to thorough agitation to discharge the air bubbles in the liquid medicine, so that the seeds and the liquid medicine are sufficiently contacted to improve the seed soaking effect.
Sixth, the liquid level should be higher than the seed. The China Pesticide Network reminds everyone that the liquid must be 1.5 to 2 cm higher than the seeds when soaking seeds. This is because the seed swells and swells to expose the liquid, which not only reduces the soaking effect, but also affects the germination rate and uniformity. Therefore, the liquid level is generally higher than the seed during soaking, ensuring the effect of soaking seeds.
