Application of monolithic cryolite in aluminum electrolysis

Recently, the China Non-ferrous Metals Industry Association organized experts in Xining, Qinghai Province to appraise the “Application Study of Single Cryolite in Aluminum Electrolysis Production” organized by China Aluminum Corporation Qinghai Branch. The appraisal committee listened to the technical report of the project team, reviewed the technical documents and appraisal materials, and conducted an inspection of the site. After careful discussion, the experts believed that the project aimed at the current situation of high consumption of domestic aluminum electrolytic fluoride salt, using single crystal cryolite. Price advantage, to replace the consumption of cryolite and aluminum fluoride supplemented electrolyte, to achieve the purpose of reducing costs; At the same time, the project has successfully developed the addition method and the amount of single crystal cryolite in the existing aluminum electrolytic cell, so that the molecular ratio of electrolytic aluminum is stable. The control ensures the stable operation of electrolytic aluminum production; the project makes full use of the by-products of the chemical process, is technically practical, reliable in operation, and has good economic benefits, and its technology has reached the advanced level in the domestic industry. At the same time, experts recommend expanding experimental studies to explore the feasibility of industrial applications.
