British scientists use human stem cells for the first time to create test-tube sperm

Guangzhou Daily News According to British media reports, British scientists used artificial stem cells to create artificial sperm for the first time. This breakthrough medical technology invention was scientifically illusioned a few years ago, which will bring hope for the treatment of male infertility. However, this latest achievement also brings a great moral and ethical controversy.

According to British media reports, artificial spermatozoa were produced in vitro and extracted from the stem cells of a 5-day-old male embryo.

Scientists have formulated a "cocktail" made up of chemicals and vitamins. In this "cocktail" culture environment, human stem cells are transformed into sperm.

Through microscope observation, the scientists clearly saw that this artificial sperm has heads and tails, and can swim like a normal sperm. This is the first time that humans have cultivated artificial sperm in the laboratory.

This scientific study was conducted by scientists from the University of Newcastle in UK and the Stem Cell Institute in Northeast England under the leadership of Prof. Karim Nayeniya. (Clouds)
