At present, many soymilk and soy drinks that are processed with imported genetically modified soybeans have not been marked with 'transgenic markers' and infringe on consumers' right to know. "Mr. Tu Shunming, director of the Plant Protein Research Center of the China Food Fermentation Industry Research Institute, said yesterday that it is protecting domestic natural non-genetically modified soybeans.

According to China's "Agricultural Genetically Modified Organisms Safety Assessment Management Measures" issued on March 20, 2002, the system of labeling genetically modified products is implemented. However, when reporters visited supermarkets in the city of Guangzhou yesterday, they discovered that only edible oils currently comply with the regulations for soybean-based products. Arowana, Luhua, Fulinmen and other brands of soybean oil all have signs of using genetically modified raw materials, clearly stated: "This product uses genetically modified raw materials, but this product does not contain genetically modified ingredients."

In the area where soy drinks are displayed, although there are many varieties of products, there is not even a product with “transgenic identification”. Among them, the reporter found the label of "non-genetically modified soybeans" only in the packaging of cans with soymilk plain soymilk drink, canned soymilk with cannabis milk, and canned canned cans with black soymilk.
