After extended usage, it has been observed that the comet-type fiber ball filter media offers significant advantages. Compared to traditional fiber filter materials, it provides higher filtration accuracy and greater contaminant retention capacity. At the same time, it combines the high backwashing efficiency of granular filter media with low water consumption, making it a completely new type of filtration material.
This innovative filter media, known as the Yiyang Zhengda Comet Fiber Ball Filter, features a unique design that resembles a comet with a long "tail." The product consists of a loose bundle of fibers at one end (the "tail") and a dense core at the other end, which is referred to as the "deno-nucleus." During the filtration process, the denser nucleus helps compact the fiber bundle, ensuring efficient particle capture. Because the nucleus is small in size, it minimizes disruption to the uniformity of the void fraction within the filter bed, thus enhancing the overall interception performance.
One of the most distinctive characteristics of this filter material is its asymmetric and fractal structure. This design enables the development of D-type filters and D-type filter pools that effectively address challenges related to high-speed, high-precision filtration and dirt accumulation. These systems offer wide-area coverage, variable speed operation, adaptability, and high efficiency. With a filtration accuracy exceeding 5 microns, the recommended filtration rate ranges from 17 to 23 meters per hour. The residual mud content is less than 1–2%, and the dirt-holding capacity of the filter bed reaches 15–35 kg/m³.
