Six methods for identification of counterfeit fertilizers

1. Look at the fertilizer package. Fertilizers produced by regular manufacturers are packaged and sturdy, and there are labels such as certificates and production dates in the bags. The packaging bag is marked with registered trademark, product name, implementation standard, production license number, use method, nutrient content (grade), net weight, factory name, site and other items, compound fertilizer, organic fertilizer, organic and inorganic compound fertilizer, special Fertilizers should also have a fertilizer registration certificate number; the packaging of counterfeit and inferior fertilizers is generally rough, the information on the packaging bags is unclear, the quality is poor, and it is easy to break.
2. Look at the product name. Exaggerated words are not allowed on the name. Such as "high efficiency × × fertilizer", "× × fat king", "all elements × × fertilizer."
3. Look at the nutrient content. Nutrient content refers only to nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. It is not possible to include medium and trace elements, organic matter, and other additives into total nutrients.
4. Look at the appearance of the fertilizer. Nitrogen fertilizer (except lime nitrogen) and potassium fertilizer are mostly white crystals, some potassium fertilizers are dark red; phosphate fertilizers are mostly black-gray porous blocks; high-quality compound fertilizers have uniform particle size and specific gravity, smooth surface, not easy to absorb moisture and agglomerate. On the contrary, the fertilizer particles are uneven in size, rough, humid, and easy to agglomerate.
5, fire. (1) Nitrogen fertilizer: ammonium bicarbonate, directly decomposed, a large amount of white smoke occurs, has a strong ammonia odor, no residue; ammonium chloride, direct decomposition or sublimation occurs a large amount of white smoke, has a strong ammonia and sour taste, no Residue; urea, can be quickly melted, white smoke, can be burned in the charcoal fire; ammonium nitrate, does not burn but melts and appears boiling, and emits ammonia-smelling smoke. (2) Phosphate fertilizer: calcium superphosphate, calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer, phosphate rock powder, etc. have no change on red charcoal; bone powder is quickly blackened, releasing a burnt smell. (3) Potassium fertilizer: potassium sulfate, potassium chloride, potassium magnesium sulfate, etc. have no change on the red charcoal, and a squeaking sound is heard. (4) Compound fertilizer: The combustion of compound fertilizer is closely related to its constituent materials. When there is ammonia nitrogen or amido nitrogen in the raw material, it will emit strong ammonia smell and a large amount of residue.
6, add water. If the appearance of the observation is not easy to identify the fertilizer variety, it can also be identified by adding water to see the dissolution. Ammonium nitrate, diammonium, potassium sulfate, potassium chloride, etc. can be completely dissolved (transformed), partially dissolved by superphosphate, heavy superphosphate, calcium ammonium nitrate, etc.; composite fertilizer particles will diverge, dissolve or have a little residue, and Counterfeit fertilizers have poor solubility or do not dissolve at all (except for phosphate fertilizer).
