2) Block format
Different CNC machine tools specify different program segment formats according to different functions, the complexity of the numerical control device, and whether the programming is simple and intuitive. If the format of the input program does not meet the requirements, the numerical control device will give an error. Common block formats are fixed-sequence, fixed-sequence with separator TAB, and word address format.
In the early days, due to the simplicity of the numerical control device, a program segment format called a fixed sequence was specified, for example:
Programs written in this format have no address code for each word. The order of the words is the order of the addresses. The order of the words and the number of lines of characters are fixed (regardless of the need of a word), even with the previous paragraph. Compared with some words, it has to be rewritten and cannot be omitted. When the number of significant digits of a word is small, the specified number of digits is padded with "0" in front. Therefore, the length of the perforated tape occupied by each block is constant. The control system of this format is simple, but the programming is not intuitive, the perforation belt is long, and the application is less.
A fixed sequential segment format with the delimited symbol TAB was later produced. The basic form is the same as the above format, except that the words are separated by a separator to indicate the order of the addresses. The above example can be written as:
