MIT's new breakthrough 36 core processor becomes possible

Now that the core of the processor is getting more and more, its inherent problems are becoming more and more obvious. Now MIT scientists have developed new technologies that make efficient 36-core processors possible. In order to solve the high heat problem caused by the increase in processor speed, multi-core technology came into being, and now multi-core processors have encountered its bottleneck. People use a single bus to communicate between the cores. When the two cores do this, other cores must wait, causing efficiency problems. The more the number of cores, the more obvious this problem is.

MIT researchers have come up with an original idea that is to have their own network between the processor cores. Each core can only be contacted by its own neighbors. If you want to connect to a farther place, you need to jump between the cores. With this method, the core activity has become stronger.

The benefit of the new technology is that the scalability of the new chip becomes very strong, and the number of processor cores is no longer limited, because the more cores, the more connection paths.

For now, the so-called 36-core processor is still only a prototype. The next step is for scientists to test it on a specially crafted Linux system to see how much faster it can be compared to traditional multicore processors.
