The species was named in 1886 by the Frenchman Jean Baptiste Louis Pierre and Jean Marie Antoine de Llanesan. Dalbergia chinensis grows in the area of ​​22° to 10° north latitude of the Indo-China Peninsula. It is spread all over Thailand (except the most south and northwest) and most of Cambodia. In Laos, it is distributed from the Luangphrabang province of Shangyu to Khammouane in the middle to the Savannakhet province in the lower jaw. There are a large number of provinces in Cambodia. In Vietnam, there are only a certain number of Dalbergia in Gia Lai-Kon Tum and Quang Nam-Da Nang in the south, but it is very rare in other parts of Vietnam.
