However, some scrap stainless steel is often mixed in scrap steel imported from abroad. In the case of such a situation, the test identification method we can use is:
1, the difference between toughness and hardness: ordinary scrap steel is soft and tough, easy to bend and not easy to break; chrome stainless steel scrap is hard, slamming can not bend; nickel-chromium stainless steel is tough, slamming can not bend.
2, from the oxidation resistance difference: ordinary scrap steel is easy to oxidize and rust, yellow; chrome stainless steel scrap is not easy to rust; nickel-chromium stainless scrap is not easy to rust.
3, from the color difference: ordinary scrap black brown; chrome stainless steel scrap after pickling is white; not pickled brownish black; nickel-chromium stainless steel scrap after pickling is silvery white; not pickled brownish white (chromium manganese Nitrogen steel is black and hard); cold rolled unannealed is silvery white, reflective and hard.
4, from the magnetic difference: ordinary scrap can be attracted by magnets under any circumstances; chromium stainless steel is magnetic, can be attracted by magnet; nickel-chromium stainless steel is annealed, non-magnetic. After cold working, there will be some magnetic properties, but the high manganese and chrome manganese steels with higher manganese content are not magnetic. .
5, from the gloss difference: ordinary scrap steel is not oxidized and shiny; chrome stainless steel scrap is dull; nickel-chromium stainless steel scrap is shiny.
6, the difference with copper sulfate wipe: ordinary scrap steel is purple-red; chromium stainless steel scrap does not change color; nickel-chromium stainless steel scrape off the oxide layer, drop a little water, copper sulfate wipe does not change color.
