Polystyrene products have low hygroscopicity and good barrier properties at low temperatures. They are very suitable for low temperature food refrigeration, and are also resistant to xenon radiation sterilization. They can be used safely at normal temperature and without special circumstances. The disadvantage is that the resistance to hot water is poor, and the oil resistance is not very good. Polyvinyl chloride products that meet the above food hygiene standards have some irreplaceable qualities, so they cannot be eliminated. For example, using PVC plastic wrap to refrigerate fresh meat and fish, not only can maintain the proper moisture of the food, but also maintain the appearance and color of fresh meat and fish. At normal temperature, it can be used in a wider range without special circumstances, especially for foods rich in fats. Be careful not to hold foods at 60 ° C or above, or heat them in a microwave oven. Do not use PVC products that are not packaged for food.
