An electrodeless fluorescent lamp, also known as an electrodeless lamp, is a type of lighting technology that operates without traditional electrodes. It consists of three main components: a high-frequency generator, a coupler, and a bulb. The high-frequency generator produces an electromagnetic field, which is inductively transferred to the bulb through the coupler. This electromagnetic field causes the gas inside the bulb to ionize, leading to an avalanche effect and the formation of plasma. As the excited atoms in the plasma return to their ground state, they emit ultraviolet (UV) light. The phosphor coating on the inner surface of the bulb absorbs this UV light and re-emits it as visible light, making the lamp glow. Unlike conventional lamps, electrodeless lamps offer longer life, higher efficiency, and reduced maintenance, making them ideal for specialized applications such as industrial lighting or energy-efficient environments.
