According to the report, the qualified rate for **safety helmets** is 80%, with all tested products being available in the market. However, several quality issues were identified. One major problem is that some helmets failed the weight test, which can affect their overall performance. While lighter helmets are generally better for reducing neck fatigue during long use, 7 out of 15 sampled batches exceeded the weight limit, accounting for 46.67% of the total. Additionally, some helmets hadä¸åˆæ ¼ (non-compliant) shell structures, which could lead to damage during use and potentially cause injury. The impact absorption performance, which measures how well a helmet protects under different weather conditions, was also found to be substandard in some cases. This can put the cervical spine at risk during accidents.
Another issue involved the chin strap strength, which is crucial for keeping the helmet securely in place. If this part fails, the helmet may slip off, increasing the risk of injury. Similarly, the lateral rigidity test—measuring the helmet's ability to withstand pressure—was not met by some products, compromising its protective function.
In addition to **safety helmets**, the quality supervision department also conducted spot checks on **insulating glass** in six cities, including Taiyuan, Datong, Quzhou, Yangquan, and Changzhi. A total of 50 batches were tested from 45 manufacturing companies, resulting in a 76% pass rate. Issues were mainly found in size deviation, skin thickness, and dew point, which can affect the glass’s transparency and energy efficiency. Meanwhile, other products like cement, ductile iron pipes, and mine-use flame-retardant cables showed a 100% pass rate, indicating stable quality.
The Provincial Quality Supervision Bureau has now called for strict follow-up actions. All levels of quality control departments are required to address non-compliant products through rectification, reviews, and administrative penalties. The goal is to prevent the sale of substandard goods and maintain public safety. In the future, the bureau will continue to crack down on illegal production and distribution of fake or low-quality products.

Similarly, the **Tiangu brand** 4+9+4mm 510x360mm **hollow glass** from Taiyuan Tianyi Glass Store did not meet requirements in dimensions, skin thickness, and dew point, affecting its transparency and insulation performance.
