According to Wang, these masks are more professional than regular face masks. They are typically made from anti-particulate filter materials, secured with headbands or ear loops. A metal nose clip helps shape the mask to fit the face, ensuring a tight seal. Some models even include additional sealing features around the nose area. Since these masks are not designed for replacement parts, they must be discarded entirely once they become damaged, making them disposable or maintenance-free.

Most PM2.5 masks are disposable, and reusing them is not recommended, as it reduces their effectiveness.
