In recent years, children's furniture has been loved by parents for its colorful and exquisite design. However, quality problems have become an invisible killer of children's health. The "quality door" incident of children's furniture is not uncommon. Safety problems have become the biggest hidden danger behind children's furniture. The first national standard for children ’s furniture GB 28007-2011 “General Technical Conditions for Children ’s Furniture” was formally implemented from August 1, 2012. This standard specifies the general requirements, safety requirements, warning signs and other contents of children ’s furniture. "Safety requirements" and "warning signs" make mandatory requirements to ensure that children can have a safe and environmentally friendly home environment.

 

 

The national mandatory standard for children's furniture GB 28007-2011 "General Technical Conditions for Children's Furniture" has been officially implemented for one year, how has the furniture manufacturer implemented it? Are the safety and environmental protection of the children's furniture produced guaranteed? In 2013, children's furniture was included for the first time in the product quality national surveillance spot check and Zhejiang province surveillance spot check as a top priority for quality supervision. The random inspection items mainly include the following aspects:

 

1. Items related to security:

 

1. The product should not have dangerous sharp edges and dangerous sharp tips. The edges and corners should be rounded or chamfered. The product should not have dangerous protrusions.

 

2. All high table and cabinet products with a height greater than 600mm should provide connectors for fixing the products on the building, and clearly indicate the installation and use methods in the instructions.

 

3. When the product has an air-tight closed space, and the closed continuous space is greater than 0.03m3, and the internal dimensions are greater than or equal to 150mm, a vent that meets the regulations should be provided, and no automatic locking device should be provided, and the opening force should not be greater than 45N.

 

4. Where products need to be installed, swivel chairs with folding or adjusting devices, and lift pneumatic rods, there must be "Warning", "Caution" and other safety warning signs, and the font is not less than No. 4 bold.

 

2. Projects involving environmental protection:

 

1. Antimony, arsenic, barium, cadmium, lead, chromium, mercury, and selenium in the surface-transportable elements should be within the limit.

 

2. The formaldehyde emission from wooden furniture should meet the requirements of GB 18580-2001 "Formaldehyde emission from wood-based panels and their interior decoration materials", and the free formaldehyde in textile fabrics and leather should also be within the limits.

 

3. Decomposable aromatic amines are not allowed in textile fabrics and leather. Phthalates in plastics should be within the limits.

 

3. Projects involving flame retardancy:

 

1. Household soft furniture products should meet the requirements of GB 17927.1-2011 "Evaluation of Anti-Ignition Characteristics of Soft Furniture Mattresses and Sofas Part 1: Smoldering Cigarettes".

 

2. The upholstered furniture products used in public places should meet the requirements of GB 17927.2- "Evaluation of Anti-Ignition Characteristics of Upholstered Furniture Mattresses and Sofas Part 2: Simulated Match Flames". (Editor: Peter)
