High-speed pumps and multi-stage pumps, both domestically and internationally, exhibit distinct performance and structural characteristics. In the case of domestic high-speed pumps, their performance and internal design are outlined in Table 3-6. On the international front, high-speed pumps are mainly produced by companies such as SUNDSTRAND from the United States, SUNDSTRAND from France, and a joint venture between SUNDSTRAND and a Japanese manufacturer. These companies specialize in pneumatic diaphragm pumps, commonly referred to as SUNDYNE pumps. The SUNDYNE pump successfully adapted the high-speed single-stage centrifugal pump technology originally developed for aerospace applications into industrial use. With its unique design and internal structure, it has become a leading global manufacturer of high-speed centrifugal pumps.

Regarding multi-stage pumps, Table 3-7 highlights the performance and structural features of high-head, low-flow multi-stage pumps both domestically and internationally. As shown in the table, most pump series employ an axial open structure. Sulzer offers two complementary series that provide a wide range of performance, with balanced axial and radial forces, which is common in open axial pumps. In contrast, China’s YD multi-stage pump has a very low flow rate and has completely overlapped with the typical operating range of high-speed pumps. While its price is more competitive, its efficiency is slightly lower compared to high-speed pumps.
