Chemical plant requirements for pumps

Chemical plants must meet the requirements of process parameters such as flow, lift, pressure, temperature, and NPSH.

(1) For pumps that transport flammable, explosive, toxic or valuable media, shaft seals are required to be reliable or leak-free pumps, such as shielded pumps, magnetically driven pumps, diaphragm pumps, etc.
(2) For pumps that transport corrosive media, it is required that the flow-through components be made of corrosion-resistant materials.
(3) For pumps conveying solid particle media, it is required that the flow-through parts be made of wear-resistant materials, and if necessary, the shaft seals should be washed with clean liquid.
3, must meet the installation requirements of the site:
(1) For pumps installed in the presence of corrosive gases, measures to prevent atmospheric corrosion are required.
(2) For pumps installed outside the ambient temperature below -20 °C, it is necessary to consider the cold and brittle phenomenon of the pump and use low temperature resistant materials.
(3) For pumps installed in explosive areas, explosion-proof motors should be used according to the level of the explosion area.
(4) For factories that require annual overhaul, the continuous operation cycle of the pump should generally not be less than 8,000 hours. In order to meet the requirements of a three-year major overhaul, API610 (eighth edition) stipulates that the continuous operation cycle of pumps for the petroleum, heavy chemical and gas industries is at least 3 years.
(5) The design life of the pump is generally at least 10 years. API610 (eighth edition) stipulates that centrifugal pumps for the petroleum, heavy chemical and gas industries have a design life of at least 20 years.
(6) The design, manufacture and inspection of the pump shall comply with the relevant standards and specifications. The commonly used standards and specifications are shown in Table 1-1.
(7) The pump factory shall ensure the performance of the pump within the range of power supply voltage and frequency variation. The range of supply voltage and frequency in China is:

(8) When determining the model and manufacturer of the pump, factors such as pump performance, energy consumption, reliability, price, and manufacturing specifications should be considered. Table 1-1
